C’era un Tessuto is more than a shop — it is a living artisan workshop where the ancient art of weaving still follows the rhythm of wooden looms and skilled hands.
Founded in 1938, the workshop has been passed down through three generations of artisans, preserving a family tradition deeply rooted in the village of Farfa.
Located in the historic village of Farfa, near the Benedictine Abbey, the workshop preserves traditional textile techniques once common throughout rural Italy.
Here linen, cotton, and wool are transformed into fabrics, table linens, scarves, and decorative pieces using methods that have changed very little over generations.
Visitors can witness the looms in action and discover how craftsmanship, design, and cultural memory intertwine in one of Italy’s oldest artisanal traditions.
